Fascinating pictures. Great to have.  No one in my family served in the war in any capacity. So I've nothing to post. As far a I know only me and my uncle every spent any time in the military and he deserted the Irish army and they weren't even in the war!

My great grandfather was in the German army in WWI, and my grandpa (his son) was on our side (US) in WWII (although stationed in Hawaii and not in combat as far as I know).

Incredible stuff to read, some of that is haunting, especially the notes about obvious friends that were casualties.  Thanks for sharing everyone, especially Mols.  I have a father with dementia now too, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Both my grandfathers were in the RCAF, and one later the RAF.  One built and worked on Lancaster Bombers, the other flew them.  I'll post some pictures when I can dig them out here.
