Impressive machinima of Heinz Knoke's "I Flew For The Führer"
« on: February 10, 2014, 12:49:25 AM »
Using live video combined with Il-2 they've made an impressive amateur short film:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRWPsf9-y3I

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9DplgzkrCo

Watch in HD and full screen!  :aok

Not bad.  Would have been better if buildings on the ground hadn't been so obviously CG (in-game footage, I'd guess), but given they had a limited budget, it was pretty good.

I don't think they had any budget. It's like when a gang here in AH makes a video.

That was interesting.  I had no idea they tried to drop bombs on formations.  Later they explained they were timed fuses.  I imagine that would be pretty hard to establish the exact relative altitude to drop.  One or two seconds off would make it ineffective.

They went to the trouble of shooting a large green screen segment, which was lighted pretty well and fairly seamless. I think it was pretty good.
