Your GV
« on: February 19, 2014, 06:54:20 PM »
Since we have a favorite plane thread I'll start one for the lovers of everything wheeled, tracked and/or armored.
Answer any or all of the following.

#1 What gv (or gvs) are you most successful with in the game?
#2 What gv would you most like to see added to the game next?
#3 In the game or out, what is your favorite gv of all time?

My #1 - The M18. Love the speed and maneuverability. Hitting power is substandard and the armor is weak but I like to sneak around a lot.

My #2 - I love Russian vehicles and would like to see more added. The Su-100 is low profile and hard hitting. It would be a fun addition for Soviet hardware fans.

My #3 Gotta go with the hog I crewed and commanded for about 8 years.

Fighter pilots win glory .... Bomber pilots win wars.

It has been always changing over the years. I still have most Gv kills in the Tiger I, and that will never change. Absolute K/D is best in the King Tiger, but I use it so rarely and so conservative it hardly counts. My "best" in the recent past has been the Jagdpanther with it's devastating long range performance... but I also enjoy good success with the Sherman VC in that role, and like to hop into the M18 / M4(76) / Panther for more mobile warfare.

#2 What gv would you most like to see added to the game next?

A genuine British tank or a Russian assault gun.

#3 In the game or out, what is your favorite gv of all time?

1: My favorite in-game tank is the Sherman VC Firefly. Fun tank to screw around in.

2: Tank to be added would be the StuG III. Been asked for plenty of times before. Why not?

3: My favorite all time tank is the M60A3. Just love it.

The T34-85 is probably the best tank overall. The T34, or the Panther. I never use either though. I favor the M4A3-75. If I get within 5k of a vehicle base I can kill the entire base in less than ten minutes (my personal best time is four minutes). All hangars, all guns, everything, but it will require at least three vehicle supply boxes so that I have enough rockets. I have tried to teach the method to other users, but it is a hard concept to grasp. I don't like killing the base though, but I do like encouraging the enemy to come shoot my M4 where, surprise!, they meet my Tiger II.

Next is the TigerII. Nothing makes people whine quite like a TigerII will. Even if they manage to kill you, they will whine about it because instantly you are back with another one. They are whining about it now on the wishlist forum, because they cannot bomb a TigerII from 35k. The TigerII is the best idea Hitech ever had.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

1)  Ever changing and dependent on mood.  But if I were to choose one, it would be the Panther.  It has a very good ROF and the turret isn't too shabby either.  It also has the ability to reach out and touch things well.  It's gun is deadlier than that of the Tiger 1's except at extreme range, so it's got the punch.  It's armor is solid and it's speed is okay.

2)  I want a British tank, preferably one of the Crusader series or a Soviet TD.

3)  Couldn't say...

1. Most success - M8 :-), killed once a Jagdpanther in one by circling around it and punching with 37mm rounds from 0 distance (and he couldn't get his gun on me) - fun GV to drive. But really T-34-75 (for non-perked)
2. Want to see some early/lightweight tanks with 37mm guns. At the beginning of WW2 most of tanks were light ones. Germans captured Poland in 1939 on Panzer III with 37 mm guns.
3. My GV is this bad guy (Merkava Mk IV)

1-2.  N/A

3.  T-34/76.  Next to the WWI British Mark I, I can't think of another AFV that had a greater effect on history.

M4 with rockets.........because it can take down HQ with 4 boxes of supplies using rockets alone.

M18..........because it covers the super long drives to friendly strats where I like to hunt enemy tanks in the streets or where they decided to sit when shooting the trains that don't shoot back on some terrains.

Nice looking IKV 91 tank destroyer. Is that one in the pic equipped with the Bofors 90 mm L/54 rifled low pressure gun?

indeed it is the low pressure 90mm
The where testing the high-pressure 105mm when I was in repetition training, but it never went into production, you never saw if you hit the target due to all snow thrown up by the high pressure gungun.

Also afaik they only tested AP rounds with it, we had the 90mm HE round that could be set to .025 sec delay, allowing an APC to be penetrated before it exploded inside the vehicle.
Shooting distance was up to 2km at stationary armoured targets and target computer allowed for 1400 meter at moving target, we also had Lyran flare system and smoke dispenser.
The HE round was shooting at 600meters/sec, and the AP-HEAT round was shooting at 875meters/s if my memory serve me right.

Im sitting in commanders cupola in picture.
