Meteor MKII was actually referred to as the Meteor F.1 which, when you search on the Internet, actually did go into service. It was responsible for ~200 enemy aircraft destroyed on the ground in hit and run attacks.

They never entered a dogfight (shooting V1s isnt a dogfight, even if that was dangerous ofc).

That is irrelevant.

F.1 was a Mk I, hence the "1".  A Spitfire Mk I was a Mk I, but that didn't make the Spitfire Mk Ia into a Mk II.  The Spitfire didn't go from the Spitfire Mk XIX to the Spitfire F.1, it went from the Spitfire Mk XIX to the Spitfire F.21.

Hey Hop, that RF-8 is out to shoot photos, not cannon rounds . . .  :D

You need one of these:

Also, look down on the carrier deck of your photo. That C1 is just about to be catapulted off the fantail  :O

And regarding the Meteor, I vote for that too.   :aok

I seen the Specs on the Meteor Mk III that seen combat, it out does everything a Tempest does except acceleration and I believe its turn radius is rather close.

When you put this into perspective, take up a tempest in the Training Arena, and just consider it a little faster with poorer acceleration and you got a meteor.

Oh and 4 Hispanos in the nose, which is a plus.

Yeah, look at it, the Meteor would be a bit underwhelming.

If I had to guess, I'd say a lot of people are hoping for a counter to the 262, in which case they will be sorely disappointed.
