200 is optional .... yes it can get stupid sometimes but generally it is a great way to shoot the breeze.... you don't go to the pub and sit in a booth by yourself now do you

No I go to a pub and sit and visit with my friends. The drunks smack talking and boorish braggings are detracting.
Shoot the breeze with an enemy... they pm for that
anyway.. it was just a thought, I see many complaints about 200 even on 200. are we so resistant to change, it could (unknown) be a change for the better, if not, revert. perhaps a poll?

I seriously doubt anyone would leave because 200 was shut down (trial basis). If they did, they were most likely part of the problem.

Why the hell would you request HiTech make a change to the game that you can do all by your damned self?  Seriously, have you no bloody self control and you need "the man" to hold your hand and make your decisions for you?  Man the hell up, learn to wipe your own arse and block the channel if you want to imagine life without it.  Don't imply that removing it from everyone would make anything better without removing it from your own personal use first.  D.A!

ahh you must be one of the 200 smack talkers... i didn't think it would take long!! See folks, this is exactly what I was referring to..  and yes I feel the need to retort to such, shall I say, a rude and immature response.
I often detune 200, I just see comments about it from new guys a lot and think that it may be a possible detractor.

Why is it that an honest question can bring out people like this to shoot off their mouths and try to "put people down" sad...

being that 200 is optional and the users choice to view it, I think 200 shouldn't have a text filter. There are a few people I would enjoy telling to f*ck off.  :)

Actually, I'm one of the nicest and most helpful people in the game.  Just ask me.

I tend to get defensive when some commie, er, California liberal thinks it would be a splendid idea to remove something from the masses to satisfy a few.

It's not going to work, people will just tune to another channel and you'll see something like channel 201 replacing channel 200.

There is an easy answer...don't tune or filter out channel 200 if you don't want to see it.

ack-ack

You are likely correct.  I was speaking more from a culture experiement perspective but agree it's not really a feasable option.

FYI - I do filter quite extensively when I fly...works wonders for the mood and concentration.  On the rare occasion I feel the need for a dip in the murky waters of 200 I can do so.  It usually doesnt last very long.   :)

You can shut it off.. really? You could also bury your head in the sand..  Hello??  How about instead of idiots going back and forth on 200, we could be focusing on teamwork to fight enemy hordes or capture enemy bases instead of seeing how eloquently you can flap ur gums at opponents in the main arena..  :headscratch:

It's the players who are being rude on 200 who are the problem, not the existence of the channel itself.  So long as cross-country communication is permitted, in any form, you'll have a group of people who enjoy being unpleasant to others.  Many of the rest of us enjoy being able to speak to friends who, at the moment, are in another "country;" and to be able to discuss a fight with our opponent when it's over.  While removing cross-country communication might cut down on the rudeness, it would cut down on these pleasant aspects, too.

No need to disable it.. besides.. there are another 99 channels in the 200 range that could be used.. if you have it tuned and see a guy going crazy, take a moment and report them. A few reports and HTC will handle them.

How about an experiment. Lets have Hi-Tech disable the all chat (200) feature in the game for a month. Do we really need to speak to the "enemy" other than a .s
Lets see what goes away... Taunting, name calling, complaining, cheating accusations, and probably a few others. What do we lose... the very few compliments that are handed out, that could be pm'd or with a simple .s

This was inspired by Fork's comment and to be honest most, of what i see on 200 is pointless and before you all jump me, yes I do use it as well, mostly because it is available and I am human.

You are getting offended by tuning to a non mandatory channel?? No one is forcing you too tune dont like it dont tune, its really that dam simple.
if your at a bar you dont like conversation,,,friggin move to another table, who the hell are you.
If your listening to the radio you dont like the song you change it or turn it off right???
this post is dumb bet your one of those "hey im offended so everyone else should be" grow a set take actions for your own self.

Video games and trash talking are synonymous.  :lol Without trash talk and competitive interaction 50% of game is gone.  :devil
to many uptight people forget this is a imaginary game played for fun!  :old: long live a optional ch 200!  :rock

Maybe some of the emos should start ch. 201 for proper tea time congratulatories and fanny pack trinket talk.  :ahand

If squelch is not your thing you can go to another country and shoot the dweeb you cant stand.  :x  :airplane:

plus you can detune 200 by deselecting it...

if you get pm'ed just squelch that player..

as i've said before elsewhere i like reading 200--for entertainment on the side.......good luck on your wish
