Beginning to woner why i still play aces high
« on: April 13, 2014, 12:20:54 AM »
GIVEN: ENY inhibits player plane choices when differences occur.............
GIVEN: ENY is based on player online; not inflight........
GIVEN: ENY design won't change...............

Why doesn't HTC boot inactive players after 1-2 hours?
Tonight with 1/2 country in tower this condition is discouraging.

After 15 years of online play, i am beginning to look elsewhere; hope there is resolution to this condition!

You should come play "Operation Kill The Crab" with me, squaddies and friends some time!

OR

WHEN the custom arenas get fixed I'll treat ya to some good staged missions that'll boost your spirit!

The boiling pot is put away and the crab has gone back to sea...

My only problem with the ENY limiter is that enemy 262s fly unopposed. I would happily pay triple the perkcost to roll a 262 against them.

Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

The games evolves so slowly that it can be frustrating, especially with glaring issues like ENY, or maps.

I can see the validity of your points. Going up against jets with no trump card does seem unfair even though most jets are avoidable. The presumed design scenario doesn't typically pan out. The high number side is often getting beat up badly on both fronts. On the micro level, any given skirmish is no different between the high numbers side and low numbers side. The only thing it can do is, assuming the high numbers side typically will advance the war effort quicker, is slow them down some, which just slows down how often maps change. Is that the purpose of it? It doesn't encourage side switching to balance much anymore since htc upped the switch time to 12 hours. If you switch you are stuck. Also, since aces high is a social game with squads, if you have six squad mates on and you want to switch sides but one squad mate can't switch because he switched earlier that day, then it would be rude to them to switch, so you are stuck.

I'd like to hear from the horses mouth the design purpose and intent of eny.  It doesn't fairly address imbalance of local fights in a 3 country war.

We've beat this one silly many times in the past.  :bhead  IMHO, and based on what I've seen in the past, free side switching would be bad for this game.  :uhoh

No matter what ideas people come up with to boot players who aren't really playing, there's a way to game it.

We should be focusing on those players who, quite often, stay logged on but aren't doing anything.

Ask them to log off so others can enjoy the game as intended. Ask them why they're screwing their fellow countrymen out of the chance to enjoy this game too.   :furious

Many online games kick you out if you've been afk for a set amount of time, and it tends to be short. Why not simply implement a 10 minute rule? If you've been more than 10 minutes in the tower, you get kicked. This way, players who are afk wouldn't affect eny as much. And if you've been looking at war status and chatting for 10 minutes without flying anything, you'll just have to spend 10 seconds reconnecting again. Those are my 2 cents... :bolt:
Started from the bottom...still at the bottom.
