Why should we exclude them?  Maybe they DO know what's wrong with the game i.e. why they left?  Or maybe they would see changes and come back to the game....always a good thing for a game with dwindling numbers, eh?

Can't get behind this one....doesn't make sense to me.

they're being excluded from one room not the full bbs.  and how exactly do you know we have a game with dwindling numbers?  did hitech asked you to sit in on the last staff meeting?

Now that's a new idea, however, the non-subscribing public would be left out in the cold.
The problem is that you can't actually say that.  It is entirely possible that the thing that would have helped them was posted in the subscribers only forum, and not in any of the other forums.

How do you propose to avoid that?

Non-payers can read... but not post. Maybe it will cut down on some the B.S. in here.

You are correct, I misread the OP idea.  My bad.

As to your question concerning dwindling numbers....are you being serious?

Less restrictive, but still leaves them having potential difficulties asking a question that the person making the original post is likely to see as they question would need to be posted in a new thread in a different forum.

It is my opinion based solely on simple observation, so I somehow doubt it it's illegal for me to do share it.

I'm not being a "Doom & Gloomer".   The numbers appear to be down from only a few years ago but I'm not running around wearing a "The End is Near" sign.  I personally think it's due to the economy rather than competition and that the numbers will be back eventually.

It's easier to blame the "economy" (Never mind that people are still spending tons of money on other games) then to admit that there are things that need to change.

well if you really notice the numbers are slightly up from last year.  specially on fso and some drinking weekends (holidays :)).  they're not like they were 4 years ago when we had 2 arenas but back then I lost a lot of friends not due to the game but to the economy.

but I'll really begin to worry if hitech has a post on the bb that his new airplane is for sale.  then you will really know the game is going down hill.  but up till then the only thing running down hill is bs :).

Never claimed there isn't room for improvement.  I just don't agree those things are the primary reasons which drive players away.

+1

I have to say the most adversarial posts seem to come from people who aren't current subscribers and frequently are in the "get off my lawn" crowd.

Sure, they may be able to add some insight to why they left, and what they would like to see changed, but after a few years, we paying members get tired of hearing them complain about how hard it is to find the church that's still up in town.

this members only room would hurt the game in the long run---people who are thinking about joining this game aka the 2 weekers--come to this forum for information--just because they don't post here doesen't mean they are not reading it......so no,we don't need a private bbs room...you are over ruled by your fellow players.

Nothing in the forum would change, all the existing forum rooms would remain the same.  Only one additional room would exists in which the paying members would have write access, the non-paying public could read.  They just couldn't post.

By allowing them read access only.
