I am beginning to review my films. However when I switch to another
pilots plane in a film, the instruments don't register their readings.
Is this normal?

Hail Ramesis, Thane of the outside toilet, and that little gravelly patch next to the garden shed!  :salute

Yes it's normal but not necessarily useful  :old:

Their views don't work either.

You can still see the speeds in the film viewer.

You also won't see blackouts of your pilot and the view from the other aircraft won't be exactly what the other pilot saw due to internet lag.

Turning trails on and watching from the F5 view is useful for seeing the geometry of the fight, the effect of pursuit curves, and learning to visualize turn circles.
