Are you connected to the same modem or is he using something else like a mobile broadband? I took a quick ping plot which showed several packet losses while crossing the Atlantic Ocean, yet I could log into the game which showed quite normal ping times and Net Status graphs. At least here the weather is rough, strong North wind, sleet and snow. Trees still have leaves and the weight of the sleet makes them bend over lines.

You have 4am we have 04:00. You have 4pm we have 16:00. That's 'metric' vs time zone difference you were referring to.

That would be a local issue.  If it was server related it would impact everyone equally.

now it works, how ever.

my father and i lost yesterday the host conaction at the same time, but he was able to get in faster 1-2 houers, why ever lol.
we using the same v-dsl.
