There is a bug that makes the game think you have a drop tank still attached when you return in flight after being discoed and is trimmed as though you have a drop tank.  If you try and manually trim the ailerons to center, the P-38 will roll to the left as though you've added too much trim.  Auto-trim doesn't fix it, it only trims it back to the position that it should be if there was still a drop tank attached.  It will fix itself after a period of time, probably because the game thinks XX amount of fuel has been burned in the drop tank so it then trims for the lighter weight and eventually it will auto-trim to the correct position.

I'm sure the P-38 isn't the only plane that has this problem, just the one that its most noticeable in.
