Am at a loss...
« on: October 12, 2014, 06:20:23 AM »
Short version...

Store has a new GM... Useless as fawk... Doesn't even do daily's... Much less ordering...

Store does not have an assistant manager and prolly will not for the rest of the month...

Here I am "Senior Sales Associate" killing himself keeping the store afloat... And the only real assistance I'm getting is from another GM from another site...

Territory Rep doesn't give two sheets and Region, Rep well doesn't pick up or seem to know athe phone has been invented... The only shread of investigation is from loss control folks I contacted but there is little they can do unless there's a catestrophic # problem...

I should probably stop doing what I'm doing but not when the jobs and livelyhoods of my co-workers may be jepordized!

I don't know what to do anymore, I'm at a total loss...

Won't happen, I need to be back a3pm and work until 11:15pm... Then come back at 6am long enough to prepare EOD and to see if the GM will do what she has been normally doing "just counting safe and going home". If so the GM from the other site has generously agreed to come and get the week started while I "might" get some sleep if people adhere to the schedule...

Sorry, but you're doing the wrong thing.  You are covering up the problem with the new GM and running ragged doing work way beyond your pay grade to do it.  How long can you keep that up?  I understand your loyalty to your co-workers, but you can't kill yourself keeping things on track.

A cousin of mine works for a publisher in Bergen and had a similar experience after her... I suppose you can call it a GM, died. The company leadership failed or neglected to get a new GM and she was left to take up the slack. She lasted a couple of months before she suffered a total breakdown and had to go on sick leave for a couple of months.

Tough breaks dude.

But your job is your job. And while your coworkers depend on you, they shouldn't need to. You need to make the situation known. And do so quickly.

Just make sure that once you decide what to do. You follow through on it.

Any possibility of letting the current GM fall on her face and then getting promoted into the position?

Maybe it's an opportunity, not a problem.

If so, although it's got risks, you can work to set that up by going to whoever has the power to hire and fire GM's, letting them know the problem (documented in detail), that you would love to take over the position, and that you'd do an excellent job for them in that position, helping them make more money than if they keep the current GM.  The risk is if the GM hears of it and has the ability to make your life miserable.  If they don't flat our refuse, but seem hesitant, you could sweeten the pot -- offer to do it for less than she does, or do it for 3 months at your current salary, and if they don't like the job you are doing, move you back to your current position.

I'm thinking when people are saying to go over their heads they didn't read the part where I already went way over their heads by 2 levels... And trying to get at least the VP of Florida operation's email is proving bothersome...

And Dragon wtf is she still doing at waffle house...
