New Pink Floyd Album
« on: November 12, 2014, 03:00:25 PM »
Anyone get it yet, getting it on the week end, from what I've heard it sounds pretty good. AC/DC's new one is coming out soon, surprising good year for classic rock fans  :aok

On fhe fence at present for the floyd one and long past the time for acdc to hang it up. Pink Floyd's new one sounds decent though, the bits I have heard. Much of their best rarely hits the radio anyway hence the fence lol.

Yeah thats pretty much why they made it, cause they were broke paying her Highness's taxes and bad investments.

They were great in their day, I saw them live twice in the '70s, but I think 1/2 the original band is dead. And being dead does hamper creativity. The others must be in their '70s or '80s. Which is old to be plucking a guitar and making weird music.

Do you have "Music From The Body" & "Ummagumma" ?  And yes, I do.  I've also seen them 3 times in Concert.  Dark Side of The Moon, Pigs on the Wing, and The Wall.  Just saying, now whattyagott ?  Homey,  :O

I have ummagumma on vinyl. Not the other one though. I think pigs on the wig was the song(s) though not the tour name.

Crap, you're right, it was "Animals", saw it in Tucson Arizona with about 40,000 other Floydians.  I musta been thinking about Waystin and his group of misfits.

Pink Floyd's new release "Never Ending River" is impressive, it certainly tips their hat towards their earlier music from "Animals" and prior. It has some moments similar to "Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "Division Bell", but otherwise it sounds more like their older stuff.

AC/DC on the other hand.... while I do like their music I think they are too one dimensional. Their last release was their worst, I hope the new one is better but I'm not holding my breath.

I was lucky I attended Nick Masons 50th birthday party
After driving some journalists to a stately home I parked my bus and relaxed listening to Dark side at full volume on a 42 speaker 500w system installed on the bus ,a helicopter landed 100 metres or so away and two people got out
I took little notice and went back to my music a minute or so later a knock came on the bus door and stood there was Mr mason himself asking me if I had eaten yet and invited me to join the party as I had such good taste in music
Of course I'm right I'm British
