Perhaps they could start a purely politics only section. Or make it one available to paid subscribers. Dunno. But they really don't need to when you consider there are plenty of political forums out there so no need to have a section of their own here. Politics and religion are touchy areas well covered in many other forums and all have their own set of problems that would be the same problem here.

If you want to talk politics or religion there are boards for that too. This is a board pertaining to a flight/tank game. shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

and to respond to jeep....YES i emailed hitech on this matter. i have gotten NO reply as of yet.  which would be another reason for someone wanting to know who a moderator is during hours when the office is closed.  maybe a person wants to ask someone in charge a question and dosent want to wait 3 days for a reply.

You couldn't live through a 2 hour mute and needed a response right away????  LOL!!!

Discussing politics or religion in MA or in the forums is ok as long as you don't diss Republicans or Bible Belt Christianity
The main moderator is  Joseph Raymond "Joe" McCarthy's ghost it would seem

Wrong, my only 2-week vacation was for the contrary of the way you say it is.

I didn't read the article in full that I posted a link to, but criticism was directed from the side which you say is "ok" to do so. No warning, 2 week vacay.

Jus sayin...

THIS! This right here x 1000. If you are slamming Obama or Democrats you don't get muted, period. Try to counter their spiel and it's mute city. I wonder if HTC ever looks at who was muted and why or if they let their Mods run willy nilly. I betting it's the latter. If you're going to mute for politics, at least be even handed about it. Right now it's not.

I did see it and I dispute it. It is a rarity if it happened. I've believe what the OP says and actually saw his muting the second time when he asked about the first time. I see Conservative drivel all the time (usually among the same crowd on late night) and nothing happens to them. If somebody speaks up and counters them, they get muted. It happens just that way. Look at the mute logs (if they exist) and you will see the pattern. Until I'm shown evidence to the contrary I will maintain this position.

If you're going to mute people be even handed about it. There is a buddy system firmly in place right now.

This is the main problem with censorship and 'moderators' they impose their own morals and views. So AH world is ok as long as you agree with the moderators own ideas.

While I certainly understand why the chat is modded I think the whole system is really flawed in the sense that even the allowed subjects eat away from game immersion. Taunting other players can be fun on 200 but having a rambling brainless chit-chat going on does the game no favors. I say ban all non-game related talk!
