Nevermind. Figured it out.

the problem was in the length of the title of the thread I was responding to

UBB bug: you can post using a longer title than what you can use for reply :D

Not a bug, per se.  When you respond to a post, it includes "Re: " in front of the title.  If the title is 78 characters long, it will not be over 80.

The real bug is creating a thread with that long of a title.
