F-18E stall speed at full load
« on: January 07, 2015, 04:39:33 AM »
I downloaded manuals of F-18E/F:

Quote
NATOPS FLIGHT MANUAL
PERFORMANCE DATA
NAVY MODEL
F/A-18E/F
165533 AND UP AIRCRAFT

https://info.publicintelligence.net/F18-EF-200.pdf

I tried to find a stall speed of F-18 at full load (66,000lb) using the chart at page 60 of the pdf (XL-2-28) and I got that at maximum A/B thrust we get 135 knots the stall speed (at maximal bank angle 30)...

Am I right? Does F-18E can fly at full thrust at max takeoff weight on 135 knots only?

I can't confirm (Yet, I'll ask around tomorrow) but that wouldn't surprise me. The Hornet was designed with low speed high loading in mind, knowing what it means to work around a boat in an attack role.
