Wine (vox radio problem)
« on: January 31, 2015, 06:59:04 PM »
So AH runs smoothly using Wine (on GNU/Linux) except for hearing or sending voice communications. Has anyone been able to get to this to work? I am not sure what AH uses for vox and why it breaks compatibility with Wine. I have only tested AH vox on a friends pc with Windows as I stopped using Windows or Mac OS 5 years ago.

Compiled and tested the latest developement version (1.7.35) and stable version (1.6.2) of Wine and neither work.
I think vsync is bugged with the developement version as it can never reach 60fps with it on but the stable version runs at 60 fps just fine with vsync. I can even get 60 fps on a chromebook c720 at the lowest settings using GNU/Linux-libre(not Chrome OS) and Wine.

Can anyone provide more details on this topic? Is the AH vox system using an uncommon feature or library not yet reverse engineered by the Wine devs? Any kind of info would be much appreciated.
