My WW2 grandfather has passed
« on: February 18, 2015, 02:37:43 PM »
I'd like to share a link to his obituary.  He was a helluva guy.  My father passed when I was a baby, so my grandfather was that father figure for me growing up.  I'd appreciate it if you'd take the time to read about him, my war hero.

Just been one laugh after another for you, Ranger.  Very sorry to hear about your grandfather, sounds like he was quite a guy.  Hang in there.

Sorry to hear this, my condolences to you and your family.
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

:salute For your grandfather for living a long life, USRanger.

They seem to go so quickly and they always remind us that growing older is not for sissies.

Thank you all very much.  As the only two men in our semi-large family, we had a good bond.  A "We gotta stick together brother" pact against all the women in our family.  Thank you all again for the kind words. :salute

Now he can join his buddies back on the USS Stormes
