Troopships Question
« on: May 17, 2015, 03:26:23 PM »
First let me say that I like the troop transports in this FSO.  It has been a long time since we have had something new to shoot at.  But I do have a few questions:

1.  Do troop transports actually SINK if you do a certain amount of damage to them?
2.  Is there a visual queue showing damage when structures on them get hit?

The ships have no animation themselves. The only visual cue that you killed one is a small explosion mostly obscured by the object itself and a object destroyed message in the text buffer.

It shows as a non voided object destroyed or hit on the logs so as Devil mentioned you will not see flames or smoke

actually I blew one up in offline the other night, I saw smoke and fire. I noticed there are 3 separate explosions. and when it sinks it has a weird damaged, half sunk look to it, you cant miss it.

How are explosion animations created or modified for custom objects?  Anyone know?
