You should NOT need that program with your new system.
If you want to improve the vanilla graphics you do. You can have a beefy system like Kenai77's and run AH with the vanilla graphics turned up to the max, it still won't look as good as someone running SweetFX.

In the video, all the graphic options in game are at the max, with the exception of shadows (don't like the look of AH shadows, though SweetFX does improve them) and AA is done through SweetFX. In the video you'll see direct comparisons between SweetFX enabled and disabled (vanilla graphics).
Since the new update will be using shaders (Shader 3.0 IIRC), SweetFX will really improve the look of AH more than it does now with the current version.
