The Cost of the Second World War
« on: June 06, 2015, 05:46:51 PM »

The above link is a video that shows you a very telling graphical representation of the number of deaths during World War II, comparing it to recent history and looking at the huge disparity in deaths between the participating countries.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

All those people + the millions killed by Stalin. What would the population of Russia be today if all those survived? Scary thought.

Indeed. The Gulag camps were to a great extent populated by people who were too intelligent for Stalin but not smart enough to leave the Soviet Union.

It gives mixed thoughts. On the other hand the purifications surely benefited us in WW2 but on the other hand they may be the reason why Russia still isn't able to grow to be a civilization that's capable of sharing values with the western world. Momentary relief, chronic problem.

Gods, what a crappy streaming site.  Video is unwatchable.  It won't preload, but it won't let me download it fast enough to watch it.  Worse, it keeps playing for a bit without sound before stopping causing audio to be missed.
