Picked up an external hard drive today with the intention of backing up my system getting it ready for an OS upgrade, I’m running XP now. Reading online I see that windows 7 register all the components of a computer and if any are replaced you have to buy another copy. When I had my computer built it was built with an upgrade of the OS in mind, there is more memory than XP can use so I think it will run 7 fine.
