Cool! I just bought the TrackIR 5 from Amazon for $148.00. Can't wait to try it out. How hard is it to get use to it rather than using the hat switch?
Thanks,

It can take awhile to get used to, there are players that tried it for a few days and gave up. You HAVE to spend some time setting up your profile, test it, tweak it, test it some more.
I recall replying to thread here awhile back, where I explained the importance of setting a "limit" also. I have all axis on my profile set with a 180 degree limit. and I have my scaling down to suit me perfect. for instance, if I turn my head just 20 degrees, i'm looking dead 6. and because I have it limited at 180, no matter how much further I turn my head in the heat of combat looking around franticly, it'll never go beyond dead 6. then I just move my head to the side a few inches to look around the seat.
I personally don't recommend it, but some players turn off certain axis and use the hat switch for certain views. Yes you can mix and match. say if you love flying hellcats, and you cant get used to turning your head, and moving it to the side, But you have a decent view already mapped on your hat, Just turn off that axis, and your hat switch will take over that view. (even with all axis turned on, you'll still be able to use your hat for the DEFAULT views, but modified/saved head positions will only work on axis that are disabled)
Also, their is the F9 function, which instantly turns TIR off, and you can use your Hat settings. I have this mapped on my controller for when I jump into a field gun or tank. It can get real confusing using TIR in Ship guns !! lol
