I would say half of one. I've never been in myself, lol, but I had to break one up my ex got in. As much of a temper as I have, by the time I could get into a bar, I was already Navy and knew I couldn't afford something like that.

Was that the backpack incident?

Number of fights I couldn't say for sure. Enough to get banned from 2 bars worth.

I have been in quite a few.  All over the world.

Sometimes I get singled out because I can appear to be a scary biker with military tattoos all over myself (and a SlipKnoT tat).  Some people see me and decide to see if liquid courage will help them.  Most of the time I can talk my way out and have a few beers with them.

Had one time in Western, PA a few guys started their crap with me.  I turned around to face them and drifted myself to have a back to a wall.  I gave them one last chance to walk away from this.  For a few minutes it was all lip service from them.  They were all taking turns holding eachother back so I started to say things to tempt them.

One rule in Marine Corps hand to hand combat is to drop the big one first.  Usually the rest will stop.  Their protection is gone...

The next time the big one got close enough, I pulled a flashlight out from behind my back I had prepared.  This flashlight has a special feature.  It doubles over as a tazer.  I stuck it in his neck and let a crap ton of volts run through his body.

The other two grabbed him and left.

I sat back down and enjoyed my beer.  When the cops showed up, it turned out they were friends of mine.

Nothing happened beyond that but it is my funny story of an encounter.

I have been in a lot though.

I think what helps me is that I am trained.  I still work out and work a bag every day.  And I don't get that adrenalin rush most people get.  For some reason, that kind of fear doesn't overtake me.  Now show me a snake and I will show you fear.  But never in those situations for some reason.

Good stories so far.

My family was in the tavern business. My dad owned several places over about 20 years... He had good bouncers and staff, for the most part. Especially "Lurch". 6'7" biker look, yet very controlled and gentle of tone. Until, that is, things got out of control. More than a few trouble makers woke up in the dumpster... Two guys got into it with dad, who was in his 70s at the time. Lurch adored my dad, who gave him a job, a place to live and treated him like a son. Those two guys regretted their bad judgment immediately and for a long time thereafter. No one, absolutely no one messed with dad, much less laid a hand on him.

Several times I stopped by to visit and had to deal with obnoxious drunks. Usually not a big problem, if you handled it right. My brother worked with dad, one time a table of loud idiots required some calming down in "Smedley's". When my brother asked them to be a little less rowdy, one showed him a .32 pistol. My brother just walked away. About 10 minutes later he walked by like he was headed somewhere else and suddenly clobbered the gun toting drunk so hard in the head with the bar billy, that it fractured his skull. The cops arrived just in time to collect the gun and see the jerk off to the hospital. A life lesson....

By the late 1990s, all of the taverns had been sold. It's a rough business, with long hours and too many jerks.

Never one unless working. Working Ive been in a few beauts.

Ive always generally liked a quiet, dignified life. Unless someone tries to bully me, or maybe another, then I might blow up. Most drunken fools will back off when you give them the "dead eyes".

Zero.  A few shoving matches but never anything that ended up in a real fight at a bar.  The last real fight I was in I was in the middle of a circle of guys and got my rear handed to me.  I did lay one guy out in that split second that I thought I might somehow fight my way out of the situation (it works in Hollywood) but after that it went poorly for me.  I may not have deserved the level of beating I received, but I did instigate it and after that had little control of the outcome...good lesson.

Been a long time since I've been even close to getting in a real fight.  Maturing isn't such a bad thing :D

I've managed to avoid getting into fights all my life.  Helps that I am big and generally don't carry myself like a victim.

Knew a couple guys who had a tendency to get a bit mouthy at the bar if they figured they had backup and I told them in no uncertain terms, if someone else started it I was with them, but if they started it it did not immediately become my problem.
