Reno Air Races - Road Trip

Anyone going to the Reno Air Races this year? I'm planning another westward road trip. Plan to leave Pensacola on 9/15 for Reno. Will be in Vegas 9/21-9/24. Will stop by the holy land of HTC HQ on the way home and possibly delivering a tactical NBC NUKE since being out west and ingesting spicy dishes. :rofl Fugitive, there is a cartoon idea for you. :banana:

Found out my buddy (#77) is a keeper for the Seattle roster. If I can get tix, I'll come up to Seattle for the game on the 27th vs Chicago. :banana:

Road trip T- 14 hours. First stop HTC HQ. Question, if I took this HQ down, how long will it stay down and how would you resupply it? :rofl

  I'm sad to inform that one of the races p-51s, Precious Metal, Caught fir and was destroyed. :( Pilot of it is a awesome hardworking man. Bad things happen to good people !

Precious Metal is not destroyed.............it is damaged.

It won't likely be pulling racing or pulling heavy Gs again unless they decide to replace some very rare bulkheads in front of the wings.

From my experience and training in Mass fatigue this aircraft it quick destroyed. 70 % of the aircraft needs to bee compleatly replaced due to heat fatigue of the air frame.

On top of this all major systems including entire cockpit is Demolished. Anything not warped by fire was hit hard with Foam. Which is known to be quite nasty to metals.

Thanks HiTech for letting me whip my.....snake out in front of the office. Wasn't it cool all the attention he got with the ladies taking picks of it? :rofl :rofl. Well, left HTC, went to Sayre, OK and met BearDawg then made it to Salt Lake City to hang with spammer's overnight. Today, on our way to Reno to meet up with HB555 and his wife. Races tomorrow.
