TrackIR problems in beta
« on: February 15, 2016, 06:34:17 PM »
Getting used to TrackIR, but I have noticed that after playing a while, it loses it's X,Y,Z translation.   I'll ALT-tab out of the game, bring up the TrackIR display, and check that it IS tracking my head when I move up, down, in, out, or side-to-side.   But I can't get this back in the game until I log out/log back in.  And then I might lose it again pretty quickly.

But within the TrackIR display, it always shows my head movements correctly.

I have had a similar problem with TIR "losing" the alpha from time to time. It just seems to happen. I couldn't say why. I'll look up and only have the tracking light on. Restarting the game puts it back.

Not a problem in the current game.

Happened in beta again today, within a few minutes of logging in.  But I couldn't get the X,Y,Z translation back no matter what I did, logout and back in, restart the game, online v. offline - nothing worked.

Went back and tried AH2 offline, X,Y,Z translation works fine there.

<shrug>  Pretty much takes away your 6 view if you can't move head side to side...

Is anyone else using TrackIR in beta and having a problem like this?

It seems like my head position is "locked" in place.  I can look up, down, sideways, etc - but I cannot move my head forward or back, up/down, or side-to-side.

Seems like it used to happen after a playing a while, but for the past few days its been a problem from the moment I get to the tower.   I went offline in AH2 and tried the same head movements; they work fine there.

Not sure, could I have pressed some key accidentally that locked my head position?

Any ideas to solve this?

Possible fix:

I copied over my AH2 settings folder; that seemed to solve the problem.    Wish I knew exactly what it was though.
