Look what I found!
« on: February 16, 2016, 04:53:46 PM »
So I found this buried on Amazon for $13.

It's a 1949 first edition (I think) signed and inscribed copy of General George C. Kenney's memoirs. Kenney was the commander of the 5th Air Force throughout WW2 and the first commander of SAC after the war.

It will go nicely with my Mission with Lemay signed book. I been trying to find a Hap Arnold and Jimmy Doolittle, but they are tough.

Anyone know who Lt Col Fred J Stacey is?

He passed away in 1982 and lived in Maryland.   Unsure of any Squadron info at this time.

At one time, Lt Col Fred J Stacey, was the Suffolk County Civil Defense head.

Read it (a more recent reprint...nice find). Our old Warbirds (and later AH) squadron was named the "Flying Buccaneers", in honor of Gen Kenny. Incredible leader and innovator. Go 5th AF!
