Sorry about the day mix up.

May 8th (Sunday) is the anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea.

Please join us in Special Events II arena for the fight:
-- 3 pm Eastern

Coral Sea was one of the most-important naval battles between the allies and Japan. It was the first major naval battle following the attack on Pearl Harbor, was the world's first carrier-vs-carrier battle, and was the first battle between Japan and the US where the US was not routed.

The carriers in the battle were the USS Lexington and Yorktown, both fleet carriers, and on the IJN side, the fleet carriers Shokaku and Zuikaku and the light carrier Shoho. Lexington and Shoho were sunk, and Yorktown and Shokaku were heavily damaged.

This would look gorgeous in AH III.

I can't wait for them to get the skins in AH III.

Well that sucks. Original post had 2 times so I planned on the later time.

Now only at 3. Guess that is why I don't do many of these things.

The original post had the day wrong.  May 8 was Sunday, not Monday.

When it happens on the weekend, I run one of it, not two, since both Europeans and Americans can on average make the same event at 3 pm Eastern.

When it happens on a weekday, we run two of it, since Americans on average can't make 3 pm Eastern on a weekday and Europeans on average can't make 10 pm Eastern.

We had Mothers Day here. That took the earlier part of the day. To me that was more important as my Mother passed in 2003. My Mother in law gets all the attention now.

It was worth missing flying in the game. I just thought there was a late run for those with Mothers.

Mother's Day is absolutely more important.

Sorry, Shuffler -- but on the positive side there is a *bunch* more stuff coming up soon.

There are 5 weeks of Eastern Front action starting with May 28 practice frame and a battle every Saturday in June; and June 6 (a Monday, so running at 3 pm and 10 pm Eastern) is This Day in WWII:  D-Day, which is a fun one.

No... I'm sorry. I did not intend to downgrade what you do. You put in a lot of time and effort for the community. There is not one here who can fault you on your excellent work.

I was just disappointed that I missed out. I did not read the full new posting. That was my fault.

No problem, Shuffler, my friend.  I truly hope that you can make some of The Battle of the Dnieper (as I think it will be super scrappy, and having been shot at by you in scenarios, I know that fits you to a T) or the upcoming This Day in WWII:  D-Day (which does run on a Monday at two times, 3 pm and 10 pm Eastern June 6).

Your participation is a great asset to special events!  :aok
