It's often a tricky balancing act to create an FSO setup that is likely to provide an even fight and also has an historical flavor. Personally, I give the FSO CM team very high marks overall for creating the mix of fun and accuracy that we see in the Events Arenas month after month after month.
AGREED!!!
Down 20+ pilots from the get go, then having to attack and defend can create some over balance issues. If you have a squad that is escorting come in light in numbers..... It makes the mission just that much harder to achieve.
In this setup, JABO missions are pretty much a given, they can happen from NOE to as high as you want to be. However I do not agree with the fact they hardly ever end well. We run our fair share of them, and if the target goes down, it's a success!! They do require timing, and teamwork from all involved, and staying on task and focused on the objective is a key. But again, if the numbers for a squad or 2 involved in said mission come in light....... Things may not go well at all. Kind of like last month for the IL's that got decimated well before target.
Personally I like the planeset for both sides, however I believe the Allies really do not need 3 different twin engine bomber, but I believe it has more to do with balance than anything else..... Remember, the CM of this setup stated from the get go, plane kills will not win, ground targets destroyed will, so adjustments in tactics out of the normal realm is a must for all involved.
Frame 1 is behind us all, <S> to all involved, and heres to a better frame 2...... Remember FSO is supposed to be immersion in history, and fun
