Celebrity AH Aircraft
« on: May 20, 2016, 08:49:17 AM »
This week I had occasion to fly off a CV and being partially inspired by AkRaVeN's skilful flying at the furbal lake I chose an F6F. For some strange reason flying it around it suddenly struck me: if Eric Clapton flew AH, he would definately choose the F6F. Unhurried, measured, capable, methodical and quietly confident. Matches his character I think.

So the game is, what celebrity would you say would fly what aircraft if they came to Aces High?

Stephen Fry would most certainly be busybodying around in a 190 Dora.

Frank Sinatra would fly the P-38 if he was still alive and playing AH.  He'd even feel at home with fellow SAPP members.

Frank Sinatra would fly the P-38

Wasn't he flying one at the start of Von Ryan's Express?

Gary Oldman -- the P-47, while not the most handsome, was one of the most-versatile fighters of WWII.  It was used for air-superiority, escort, ground-attack, in all theaters, all climates, super high alt to ground level, used from short-range missions to Iwo to Japan, used by Americans, British, Soviets, Brazilians, Mexicans, and French during WWII.
