Radar Chaff
« on: June 11, 2016, 02:30:45 AM »
I remember during WW2 bombers would drop small strips of aluminum tinfoil to get the desired effect of the enemy radar seeing a bunch of radar contacts. I was interested if this would be appealing to some of you in some sort of capacity in special events or some other arena. What do all of you think of adding something like this into the game?

It wouldn't work with the game.

Most special events have a limited amount of radar. Usually, radar is only updated every 5 mins, or some effect like that.

Yeah but this is the wishlist forum so I'm guessing he's wishing that it would work with the game.

but it's silly.  drop chaff or kill the dar.  killing the dar is more effective.  a better wish would be to drop leaflets telling the enemy to leave the base or face annihilation.

If you can drop it in a fighter's face and kill their engine...+1

It would also be neat if it worked as intended.

If the chaff could both simulate a large dot dar and bar dar I could see it being used as a diversion. Unfortunately, I could also envision it being abused.

As a diversion tactic it sounds cool but... how many people are already running from/avoiding fights again?

It would used to create a false dar bar in order to grieve.
