So there are going to be AI fighters in AH3?

I'm a little confused by the conversation on the AI thread here in general. It sounds like there will be AI fighters in the MA (in AH3). Is this true? Or am I not reading things right?

There is the ability for players to make custom arenas that may include them (probably).  But for the first time, HTC has created missions listed that can be flown together with other online players and against AI.

Just like we have different arenas now in AH2, the beta currently has "TABS" which neatly categorizes Missions, Arenas (including the Main Arena equivalent), Events (where FSO and other sponsored events would be listed), and player created arenas (currently the Custom Tab in AH2).

If I'm reading you right, if I don't want to ever fight an AI plane, I can happily roam the MA and never encounter one. Is this correct?

Log on at the correct time in AHII MA and you can happily roam around and never encounter a human.
I for 1 am all for AI planes - at least they will fight.

I think it's still running. An 8th AAF mega mission with hundreds of AAF and Luft aircraft at the same time online in the beta. We tested it for a few weeks in the closed alpha. Even with all AI most of the time, it was inspiring. In many was it was no different than being in SFO except for the almost none stop action. Just act like your VOX and text suddenly broke in the middle of and SFO mission.

My first kill was an AI goon.  I was so proud, until I found out that it was AI.

Not to mention that it was a goon...

 Used to hate players that would vulch the resupply field in AW and see nothing but drone IDs scrolling through chat.

I remember in AW killing the ack at the goon spawn base and landing at the end of the runway just off the grass.  When a goon spawned BLAM!  Got 26 of them one time

They are ok pilots better than 80% of the MA for sure. 

They do however have aimbots and pull maximum G without blacking out.  So they do cheat a little.  That being said they make a fun aggressive fight but their SA sucks in furballs. 

I won't mind having them in the MA as a wingman if I can give them a name and draw moustaches on their faces like the Combat Tour feature.
