Anyway to prevent stupid play?
« on: August 14, 2016, 02:08:15 PM »
Still loading skins and flying around beta but when you get some peanut, 49VMan, sinking his sides cv off the field we're attacking sort of hinders fun, and 'testing' in a way.
Anyway to stop peanuts from being normal, or stupid?
Can't reason with it and they just plug ahead getting more stupid.
Or just sit back and laugh at him until its live?
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

I would just sit back and laugh........................

This is set up this way on purpose to speed up beta testing as the coding is the same for friendly as for enemy so you don't have to waste a lot of time going to an enemy base just to test the coding, or killshooter being off to test aircraft coding dogfighting a friendly and not waste time finding an enemy....................

When this goes live I'm sure all will be set back to normal.................

The problem fuzeman is that too many folks are bringing the MA mindset inside beta, instead of testing.  What I mean, a few folks immediately take all of another country's strat radar vehicle bases, then they proceed to pork that country's strats and eventually take a massive number of their frontline and tactical bases and ports.  The same group does it over and over again, so I couldn't imagine what they are beta testing in doing so.  I have even seen captured CV task groups hidden (which is silly in the first place as there is no country change time limit).

When I see this, yes I use friendly guns to sink hidden CVs.  I do a lot worse, simply because like you said, it makes it more difficult to beta test (the reason why we are privileged with these new toys before they are released).  I am not saying this was your experience, and since I have not been online in about 3 weeks, I wasn't the culprit.  However, it is a helluva lot quicker to test without having to take the time to seek out enemy targets.  Sorry to say some folks have no filters and don't know when to STOP, but no way should that take precedence over testing.

I do wish they would make the vehicle bases with radar protecting strats uncapturable.

Unless we are asked to check something specific, most of the testing is done. This has been out for awhile. Most are playing the game in there now and if they hit a possible bug they report it.

When AH3 goes live they won't have the opportunity to get this much fun out of you guys again.

Hitech has given us one giant trollburg to find bugs as fast as we can. Why wait all day for one guy in a red icon suit to maybe let you get near him when kill shooter and protect objects is off. This isn't the first beta Hitech has been through. Many bugs won't be found if you play business as usual and don't do truly strange crap like peanut and the other greifers have been doing to you. Yes it's a greifers are us arena to ferret out the bugs.

How many of you since you started the beta have walked and driven the town looking for any remaining bugs? I located and posted the last curb in the town that could stop a tiger2 cold a few weeks ago along with the mangler tree on the ring roads around the tank town object.

If kill shooter and protect objects were on, many of you guys would be playing MA as usual avoiding getting killed. Which would mean avoiding finding bugs by accident at the rate we find them now. In the alpha I couldn't get people to test things with me that required they sit still and get shot down or blown to pieces. I had to let them do the blowing up and kabooming or they suddenly heard their wife calling them for dinner or some other lame excuse.

The only person this is supposed to be fair to is Hitech so he can get AH3 out the door for all of us.

Hey peanut, have you tested if a pilot can still frag a pilot in his just spawned plane with the .45? I forgot to after all of this time.

First, apologies for the 'peanut' reference, wont use that one again    :aok

I see the point but would clarify that with there is a time and place for such things and not a time and place for such things.

I spawned in Saturday for a while.  I managed to get several kills off s group of players who tried to establish air superiority over our base.  Killing a few poorly flown ki43s, ki84s and a A6m5 while flying the bf109E was fun if not particularly challenging.

Not sure if this counts as a bug so I didn't report it, but I noticed that the ikons for enemy planes flying low to the ground are hard to see.  If it's a bug I personally recommend HT keep it as I think it adds some challenge for deck fighting planes.

You will see them clearly if you turn of post lighting. The icon seems to respond to post lighting like an object.

I have post lighting turned off and the icons are hard to see. Friendly as well as enemy. Translucent and fade to almost nothing.

Bellybutton comes from the forum filter. It will filter our specific words and replace them with other words. This is used to try and keep forums rated to a certain extent. IE, PG-13.

In other words, he used a word that the filter changed to bellybutton. If I remember correctly, another term for the word "butt" hits the filter for bellybutton.
