Control mode messages --enhancement request
« on: September 01, 2016, 11:04:08 AM »
Anyway to suppress them from showing up?

Previous flight sim I flew you could "disable stickset messages", just curious if that is an option here, or could be?  Missing stuff in buffer as a result.

I use Control modes for view change...toggle between 1 and 3 for level and high views.  Has its advantage with finger dexterity and ensuring all buttons are HOTASable during a fight...

+1  Yesssss, pulleeeeze!!!

I also use the modes for views.

You can suppress them by suppressing "system" messages, but then you lose valuable info.  (Right-click the top bar of the message window and edit settings.)

Maybe the "control mode" messages could be tagged "help" instead of "system".  Then they could be suppressed without adding a new message category.

If you use a button set to look up in combination with your hat views you can avoid the mode change messages.

Already have the "look up" combination button, as well as the additional views with the mode change.
Can't have too many views.   :D

If you have a hat on the throttle you can set it to forward view, back, up, and down. In combination with the stick hat you get all the views plus the alternate forward view and you can check 6 with either hand.

Yep.  Lotsa ways to do it.

I already use the throttle hats for other functions.  Besides, I'm too old to change my view setup!   :old:

Just asking for a way to suppress the "mode" messages.

You can create a separate text buffer window, and have it only show things like system and private messages. The other window can be set for things like country text and channel 200.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0
Track IR, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals

Didn't know that.  But.  A separate window for system messages would still be clogged with "control mode...".
Still, good to know.   :aok

If its "tab 2" you never see it unless you access it.

OK...so second tab set up and drug to the bottom right of my screen with just system messages selected to be displayed.
Original tab set up and left at bottom left of my screen with all the other stuff BUT system messages selected.

Sort of Rupe Goldberg to me, but it works:)

Thank you for the help!
