Skins downloading for Ah3

Question

I have skins downloading while in the new Ah3 but when I check for a skin that has downloaded the default skin will not change. My question is: Are the Skins downloading in the background the old skins from Ah2 being carried over to Ah3 or they updated skins made to the new AH3 specs? I f the old skins have not been updated is it worth having skins download for the new version?

Reason I ask for some reason I have auto skins marked for download and when I go to hit a skin for ah3 from default the downloaded skins do not show

Did plane models change??? Why can't they use the old skins in AH3? The blue JG5 K4 skin must have been  redone because it's the only one I use in AH2 or AH3 for the K4.

I suspect the texture resolution is higher, just to name one.

That's what I was wondering with each new skin loaded they are marked I black text rest in red which did not download. So I was just curious

HTC has a program to convert the old skins to the new format. New skins must be made to AH3 standards. The only way to get skins fir the Pre-release is to auto download them (this takes a very long time)

Mols, if the skin name on the roster is black then you should be able to use it, if it is red then it has not been downloaded yet. Also, if you have the plane selected for the skin you are waiting for before it downloads, then you need to select a different plane then go back to the original to reset the roster and display the new skins.

The skins I am picking are in black text but when I pick it the default skin still shows

5 days so far and I just let the game run all day for 2 of those days and they are still downloading

A second option is to have a "download skins" option on the clipboard before logging in to the arenas.

Another possibility is to significantly increase the bandwidth for skins download while the player is in the tower.
