Low light/No light gameplay is a no-go for me
« on: September 06, 2016, 05:06:40 PM »
I appreciate the gorgeous sunrise/sunsets and the period of low light in the AH3, but I cannot play.  Tried yesterday and my vision was not good after about ten minutes of gameplay I had to log off the game.  Went in this morning and was really looking forward to playing AH3, but just a I logged on the dark period clicked in.  I logged off.  Had to.  These 52 year old eyes are no longer up to the task  :old:

will check back in a few hours but with my luck the dark time will probably have just started again.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Not seeing at 'night' is very dependent on your hardware, especially your monitor. In the Graphics tab, adjust your Gamma. I still have a monitor that was unplayable without adjusting the gamma in AH2. Then I purchased a 27" LCD and the difference is literally night and day without any adjustments.
Easy in-game again.

Upping the gamma pretty much defeats the purpose of night time in the arenas.

That's easy for people to say with good monitors. You have no idea how unplayable it is with night on a totally black screen.
Easy in-game again.

for the 20000th time

If you are having problems seeing at night then you do NOT have your monitor calibrated correctly.

It held true in AH2 and it absolutely ESPECIALLY holds true for AH3.
Night in AH3 is a completely different animal then AH2

BTW IRL if you are looking at a bright light such as fire at night it would effect your ability to see elsewhere in the dark

Yes. Tools like this are widely available for free: http://tft.vanity.dk/. If you don't know how to use the buttons on your monitor pane, RTFM. No rocket science there.
