Overall problem is there is a mindset of it's ok to avoid combat in order to keep/take fields....example all the people saying it's ok that M3s get upped to defend against incoming aircraft...that crap blows my mind as to how some of you think that's ok or right.

During off hours....Radar should show all dots on the map
Side switch should be unlimited if switching to the low number sides
Town resupply should be disabled
Manned guns disabled until FH or VH are down
And ENY should never go above 10.

I won't get on during the morning anymore prior to setting up my controllers...I check to see what the fights look like and often times I'm just sitting in tower looking at ones and  twos going after strats and a peak a boo horde vanishing like a fart in the wind from a field....maybe implement a 30 minute period after a base take where if there are no players from the recently captured field on the ground or air from that field it auto retakes back to its original team....it would stop the ninja vanish the horde uses after taking a field a bit.

We just need more players. Is everyone in this thread doing what they can to attract, retain, and develop players?

I know this will never happen but come on guys - so few players in game and so many bases.

This is not combat, this is sneaking as much as you can and if you get spotted you go try to sneak another place.

you arent even playing ah anymore.  so why does it matter if there's 0 or 100 to you.

The size of the map should flucuate with the #s. If you have less than 100 players, bases need to be closed off. There needs to be certain zones to fight in that would create a smaller area, therefore funneling the action so the players know where the fights are.

Also, a airspawn death bowl would be a lot of fun for quick fights and action. And if you are too big of a girl to "jump in and be cannon fodder" you shouldnt be playing games to begin with.

I still don't understand how closing it would help things?

Seems conversations are taking place on ch1 in AHIII now that go along the lines of how much better DCS and BOS are. Trolling maybe by the OP, or trying to pull customers away from Hitech because of personal dissatisfaction with Hitech. There is still a lot of acrimony due to public banning events in the forum and game since 2012. Now it's just a Soros style proxy campaign instead of a Ferguson march.

I wonder how much of the low turn-out lately is just a case of "Two-more-weeks" fatigue, waiting for AHIII? My hope is that a lot of players are simply waiting for AHIII to re-engage, so there's something new to see and experience. This is not a criticism of HTC, just stating the fact that AHIII has consumed pretty much all their resources for so long that AHII has been essentially static for what seems like forever. There may also be a fear (wondering about it myself) that, aside from better graphics, AHIII will not be particularly revolutionary or innovative. Like repainting an old playground without adding any new play equipment.

As for closing the MA when numbers are low, I'm against that. Unfortunately, other options discussed may be impossible to implement while the final push to get AHIII out the door is on-going. All I can hope is that, when AHIII finally goes gold, it will provide enough new features to bring back those who've been sitting on the sidelines. :pray

Thank you for your responses.

The post was made more out of frustration than a real hope that it would happen.  As for you semp, I am still an active subscriber to AH and I fly when I can, the unfortunate reality is there are so few people flying when I do that it is little more than a sightseeing game.  I am not trying to troll, nor pull players away from this game, simply putting forward a viewpoint.

There are always those of you who say you can always find a fight and therefore there is an issue with me and how I play the game as I complain that there are few fights.  Well, last night I lifted to defend a V base against 2 enemy.  When I got over there I saw a P51 and a 190D.  They turned and ran to home and landed.  That frustrated me.

Hey Puller, perhaps you can explain to me, how I might have found a fight last night.  I was Bishop.  I attach a screenshot to help you formulate the plan for me.  Some conditions to consider:

  • I want air to air combat
  • I was side locked for a further 3 hours from the time this screenshot was made

I am at a complete loss how closing an arena because of low numbers will help anyone with anything.  If you do not want to play because of the low numbers, and you say you are not playing because of the low numbers fine.  But please tell me how closing the arena has anything to do with making anything better.

There really are way too many Trolls on this board in my opinion.
