Windows 10 Alt Tab Key Problems/Solution?
« on: September 10, 2016, 11:32:14 AM »
Recently, just starting this month, every time I went ALT-TAB, I would go to the windows main screen but the game would not be in the task bar.  I would have to shut the machine completely down and then reboot.  I searched the web and apparently, under Windows 10, the Alt Tab key will bring up the last item used in the task bar.  For me this was my Zone Alarm.
The solution, according to the Microsoft site, was to use the WINDOWS KEY  and the D key.  This apparently works.  I tried it on and off line and did not have to reboot.

I also had the problem, starting around September 4, after going through a Alt Tab session, of having an  encircled semi auto pistol show up on the Aces High III Splash Screen.  It also showed up on the AH films during play back when I went from the small window to the large window to view the films.
Does anyone have any idea where this symbol shown in the attachments below may have come from.  The only think I have done from one version to the next is the installation of Team Speak 3 on August 31 2016.

What monitor model are you using? As I mentioned when you posted this before, it looks like a crosshair overlay for gaming. Some ASUS monitors have those and there may be other monitors or apps that put them on your screen. It is not part of Aces High.

Does your monitor have icons for different modes?

Alt-Tab on a Windows desktop should show icons of all open programs regardless if they show on the TaskBar or not. You should be able to either Tab yourself to the program you wish or use your mouse for the same purpose.

Since Win8 the number of keyboard shortcuts has increased exponentially (well, almost) so WinKey-D might just be a new alternative or substitute.

The Win-D key has been there since (I think) Windows 7. It's the shortcut to minimize all open windows and get you to the Desktop. You can do the same thing (if you can see your taskbar) by clicking the little box to the right of the system clock on the taskbar.

Win-D=Desktop. Of course... I frequently use some of the shortcuts but there's too many of them for just being passively memorized.  :salute

Well, something is screwy.  I can use the win key alone and it takes me out of the game and I can get back in.  Sometimes.

Any of the keys sometimes work and sometimes I need a complete reboot, not a hot reboot.  I guess I shall have to live with it.

But I sure would like to find out where that circled semi auto came from :)

The circled semi auto looks like being a symbol for Sonic Radar software by Asus. Look at the image and description here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7022/asus-rog-press-conference-sonic-radar-gaming-software

I noticed a Sound Blaster Audio Controller listed in your drivers, but no signs of any Creative Labs hardware.  Not sure what impact that could have.  Or is Microsoft using software from Creative Labs in Windows 10 (not near any W10 machines, at the moment)?

Skuzzy, yes, I do have a soundblaster card installed, but am not using it yet.  Am waiting to get a wired headphone.  I really don't like the gamecom 780 USB.

Bizman and FLS.  That does make sense.  I was thinking about that last night when I saw it come up once again.  After getting these sightings I isolated my versions of 3, 4, and then 5.  I renamed the primary folder with an addition of the name SemiAuto Hitech Creations, and 4 was also named gun in circle Hitech Creations.  I did not update 3 to 4, but did a full download and the same for 5.

I do notice now however, that I get a lot of aceshigh.exe listed in my zone alarm.  Right now I think I have 4 or five.  One I guess is the updater.

Thanks for the inforamtion Gentlemen.  :salute

Something is amiss.

The hardware listing does not show a SoundBlaster card installed.  It does show a driver.  This is pretty odd.

It also shows an onboard sound device installed (Realtek), along with an active driver.

These things are not going to play well together.

The ASUS mother board comes with Realtec 7.1 sound on board.  I am currently using that.  I took the soundblaster out of my old computer and will use that after I get a better headphone set.

I did discover that yes, the ASUS sonic system was placing the "Warning" circle on my screen just under gun sight.  I deactivated it yesterday and no more circled gun.

The programs showing up in my Zone Alarm programs are:

aceshigh11.exe
aceshigh11.exe-8DE1-A81921B41C4B}
aceshigh11.exe-A80B-008A702075A9}
aceshigh11.exe-AA9D-2FE65525666E}
aceshigh11.exeD
aceshigh11.exeicator.exe"
aceshigh11.exeroundTaskHost.W ebAccountProvider

I have some screen shots of the zone alarm info from other installations of the game.  I did this after I couldn't figure out what the circle/gun was.

If needed, I can either email them or attache them a post.

Thanks  :)
