frame rate at 0
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:25:42 PM »
The game runs fine for a while then the frame rate tanks to 0 for 2-3 minutes then pops back to 60 again for a few minutes.  This got me killed in FSO tonight.  :bhead

This was happening to me and, just throwing this out there as I have no idea what is causing it for you, I discovered I had a bad data cable on the SATA unit I was using for AH.

I guess it could have something to do with the absolute crap weather tonight, but it has never done this until the recent update.

I wouldn't think so, unless you had lightning really close to the house. I've had that blow out USB devices and so on, before isolated everything. My brother had an issue once and he thought it was heat, but then he found out his kids were cramming chocolate chip cookies in through every hole they could find. Maybe a vacuum cleaner bumped into the case or something? Odder things . . .

EDIT: Others have similar complaints, so it could be related to Internet woes.

I freeze periodically in the MA when talking on range or squad channel if I am in a heavy traffic area with lots of players.

We use Ventrilo for in squad commo so that is no issue but when using game vox I take a dive/mini freeze as described by branch on occasion. :headscratch:

Working out the bugs...  :bhead
