Not referring to that Men at Work song, which is awesome by the way, but the separating of the population on the AH clipboard.






The reasons are twofold: It only shows limited choices of arenas, which excludes the events arenas and also makes the total population look smaller.

If you want people in special events, show them the arena numbers before they log into Melee, in addition to the current message displayed when you enter the arena.  And numbers attract numbers.  Dividing the numbers into tabs doesn't make the numbers or therefore the game, look good.

A squaddie just called me, asking where the action was. For him it showed plain zeros on Melee. When I said they were in the scenario, he opened the game again and found the right numbers.

For someone who doesn't know the tab system might be a little confusing. The straightforward list of AH2 showed in one glimpse where everyone was. The simple approach might still work.

I agree with the OP, I think all the arenas should be on the same page. Most people don't even think twice before automatically clicking on the Melee arena.

Have to agree with the OP on this one.  Heck I never even noticed the tabs at the top of the page until he pointed them out.  Old habits are hard to break you know.

I suppose to further this, I'd like to see the special events arenas be able to change their names to show what event is going on. Something like...

Tunisia Scenario - SEA 1
FSO - SEA 2

Or something similar. Of course, this one is a bit of a stretch, as I imagine the only ones capable of doing this are the crew at HTC themselves.

This was discussed on the Axis Scenario teamspeak when HiTech was on. I would expect some sort of indicator of player population per tab displayed in the near future.
