Justice for All still my favorite.

Agreed.  Pioneers to crap over the decades.  Breaks my heart.

Metallica DIED when Cliff Was Killed in the bus crash no matter how hard they try imho anything after Justice for All even tho I did like Garage Days but the rest are  Crap how many versions of the song Unforgiven can you do, The best Concert I saw was the Free Concert they did in Philly Called the Million Decibel March. Granted they did have some decent songs in between but nothing i would write home about. Also after reading some reports now they want to try and do a show where they hologram Lars in instead of him playing live and Kirk is kinda Ticked cause unlike past albums he had alot to do with the song writing and guitar riff's now to me Metallica is just the James and Lars show and no others count. Sorry I like the original bands line up James, Dave, Cliff and Lar's back in the early 80's ashame Cliff Died and James got ticked that Mustaine could out drink him and they fought all the time..Long Live Cliff!!!

just my 2 cents

I liked by cassette of "garage days re-visited".

Jason proved his worth by constructing the space where they played and recording the bass.

That cassette was cool because it had a sticker on it that said "$5.98 EP......If they try to charge more, STEAL IT!"

Pretty much yeah, Master of Puppets was their peak and their legacy. Hardwired is just ok, definitely not a "comeback" album.

Sol Invictus is a way, way, waaay better comeback album.

Is it just me or does the tail end of "halo on fire" sound like the cult?

Reminds me more of Dio era Black Sabbath - I like it.

But I do hear The Cult similarity too.

I'm not a huge Metallica fan but I think their new CD is a revival of their spirit. It's a lot heavier "mainstream" than most stuff today. I think it's a good band to get people into the heavier rock. I actually think their new CD is quite good. It brings a lot of old school rifs and metal sounds. Atlas, rise! and Spit Out The Bone are 2 good ones from the CD. I wasn't a fan of their last few albums, but this new one sounds more like their style.
