It's a good movie but way too long.

It has the 3rd shortest runtime of all 8 movies.

People who think it was too long are why Michael Bay stays employed and Star Trek movies are all "fire everything" lowest common denominator flicks.

I had someone tell me that there wasn't nearly enough action. They wanted something resembling John Wick...

I agree. This need for CONSTANT action just makes me wonder at the general attention span. I thought it was a great level of action to plot.

Yeah I had to go to the bathroom three times due to age and all the cokes I drank and didnt feel like I missed anything. Not a bad movie but not worth $10 and Star Wars is feeling like Star Trek now for me, its like eating off the same Ham bone for 3 or 4 days in a row. The magic is gone.

But I clearly remember 1977 and the cultural impact it made then. There has never been anything like it. Not in my lifetime.

This is a really interesting thread, because it seems here, and in other social outlets, everyone who LOVED VII, HATED Rogue One, and everyone who HATED VII LOVED Rogue One.

I liked both.  Both good movies, for different reason, as far as I am concerned.

I do wish they had stuck with the John Williams music for Rogue One though.  Still.  Damn good movie.

Force awakens was just aweful, and I am talking Jar Jar Binx aweful. Rouge one is easilly better, criticism and all.

I watched 20 minutes of rogue one. It lacked the cheesy A-Team style writing that Star Wars and Force Awakens had. Which is why Force Awakens is better than Rogue One.

Force Awakens was a true throwback. Because people idolized Star Wars they forgot just how camp and ridiculous the writing was in the original movies. Rogue One was written by those people for those people.

Star Wars has always been spaghetti western, attempting to elevate it above that ruins it. It's supposed to be for children, don't break the playground equipment with your fat grownup asses.

Force Awakens would have been ok if the big bad didn't throw temper tantrums like a 5 year old.  Not quite as good as episode 3 but better than 1 and 2.  Way worse than 4-6 or Rogue One.

Interesting note: Tarkin and Leia weren't completely CGI. Only the faces were altered. Guy Henry played Tarkin while Leia was portrayed by Ingvild Deila.
