The Chinese video shows probably why Chinese made products tend not to be very good.

Not at all. The end of the video shows the finished product, which was finely machined on a lathe. Assuming the same quality of the steel itself, the end product would be indistinguishable from a factory made ring. What the videos do show is how much faster and uniform the ring is before machining. Saves on time, labor, and material.
