SM. 79 Sparviero

Significant Early/Mid war Italian bird often subbed in Mediterranean scenarios. It's overall historical effectiveness was limited, but hey it's sexy anyway.

From the WWII Database website:  http://ww2db.com/aircraft_spec.php?aircraft_model_id=B133

"By the time Italy entered WW2, Sm.79 bombers were the backbone of the Italian bomber force. They were used in France, Greece, Yugoslavia, Crete, Malta, Gibraltar, Palestine, and North Africa. They were responsible for sinking 86 Allied ships totaling 708,000 tons."

Not too shabby, considering Italy got pwned by 1943.

+1 on the wish and bring on the C.200 and G.55 fighters too.
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

I was looking at model supplies the other day. Seems there's a nice kit for the SM79 out and Eduard makes some very nice detail sets for it.
