That's actually not a bad $ considering what I see other WW2 planes going for - there are hundreds of P51s, and while there aren't piles of Spits and other fighters, there are certainly tons more than there are 109s. I don't even think there is 10 restored flying 109s, is there? Or even half that? I see P51s/etc going for 1/2 that or more frequently, which is why I think the $ is pretty reasonable.
Such a shame so few have survived, hard to believe there was 35,000+ or whatever of them built in such a short time span, yet fewer than your digits left in flying-ish condition. 109s just look lethal, the SPits and Mustang look beautiful to me, but the 109s look like an angry animal just looking to bite something.
I hope somebody with $ and the ability to keep this example up gets it. Great pictures, I mean look at those, everything looks like it came out of the detail shop, pristine.
The 2 seat G12 on the same sight would be a dream IMO - able to take other pilots and 109 enthusiasts for hops, it looks to be in great shape as well. There is a video of a test flight in the for sale pictures, and there is a camera mounted in the rear seat - it looks like it has really good visibility from the rear seat position, far better than I expected. Jo, you posted in another thread a few months back if there was any 2 seat 109s around so you could get your dream ride - there's your chance...
