PT Boat questions

How do you estimate range in a PT? It seems a bit crude to wait for ship ack to fire on you. Also why can't you control speed, it's full speed or nothing?

You can adjust speed by speeding up pressing W and slowing down by pressing S. Press longer to increase/decrease speed more.
