To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

Being a challenger owner and belonging to a Challenger group on the web I've had privy to some info on the Demon.

It may come with three keys.  black key the standard 707 HP is the norm.  Red Key will enable the 840HP option.  Now the third key I've heard rumors about is gold.

It will supposedly unlock 1043HP.  It will enable 100 Octane to be used and a tune to enable that HP and Octane use.

We shall see.  since I've owned an R/T and now an SRT, it may be possible for me to think of upgrading.   Again, we shall see.

And it comes equipped with a trans brake. Only street legal car to do so. Comes with two small racing tires for the front for "drag strip use" in the trunk. Passenger seat and stereo are adds.

What's truly amazing is that the new civic type R beats the hellcat around the nurburgring.

I'd like to see this new one wearing the barely street legal michelin pilot sport cups that everybody else uses to set a record that has an asterisk next to it.

All this to beat the Model S. I heard adding seats, speakers, etc was $1, so they could claim it was a "production" car.

From what the release read at work removing the extra seats and stereo reduced the weight by almost 200 pounds compared to the hellcat

Ford's answer has a good story

Quote
Ford's flying filly

Not one to be outdone, Roush Performance, longtime tuner of Ford Mustangs and F-150s, is deploying its latest street fighter -- the 2017 P-51 Mustang.

Roush has a division devoted to vintage aircraft called Roush Aviation. It specializes in the overhaul and repair of the Rolls-Royce Merlin and Packard engines that powered many iconic warbirds, including the P-51s. -

Ford and Chevy both have their answers http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20170410/entlife/170419998/

Keyword Roush.  Dodge is done within Fiat/Chrysler, in-house.  Ford has to send theirs out.  Chevy is using Hennessey.  Again someone else doing the work.

The hellcat and demon are not built for handling at the track. They are designed to go straight.

That is where the dodge and camaro are designed different, well except for the Copo camaro.
