Yak3 may be the best fighter in the game...Top 5 at least

  I have to ask why does it matter?  Every plane has strengths and weaknesses,does it make you feel better to say "I got shot down by a top 10 plane"?

Im tickling 50, and been a gamer since before it was a term. I've played my share of games.

If AH starts to "re-balance" vehicles ... it would, in my humble opinion start to put AH on the road like all the other multitude of games out there.

If what the Yak3 does is OP, and the community thinks so, then fine, give her a 5 ENY or maybe, make her a premium.

My impression is the aircraft/vehicles are made historically accurate in Aces High.

Certainly!  I suspect everyone here who has flown The Inferior Plane has thought to himself, "What a wuss, if he'd been in a plane like mine, I'd have owned him!"

That's why you fly high eny planes. When you die you can say that it was because of you having an inferior plane and when you kill someone you are extra awesome since you killed him despite he having a better plane.

Im more worried about the ENY being off....should be 8 IMO....it is for sure same class as N1K and LA7

If Yak-3 just did not soak up 20mms like it was rain ...

Damage model flaw. All the smaller fighters tend to soak up more damage because it's cumulative. Harder to hit the same spot on a small airframe.

I'm believe those who fly High ENY planes don't do it to find a excuse for getting shot down. Maybe they enjoy the challenge?

I've been flying knights since my recent return to AH,and what I have noticed in text is, that if someone lands 5 kills in a LA7 it's a non event; land those kills in a high ENY plane you seem to get a lot of High 5s. If you think the ENY system is flawed that's a topic for another post, however I think you deserve extra credit for landing kills in a high ENY plane/vehicle.

First you have to establish a consensus that a plane is in fact easy....then you can make an ENY post about the Yak 3. Some people think they are good flying a Yak 3 or Brewster and landing some kills but IMO ot should be seen like you said...like flying an LA7 and getting kills

I get a lot of comments about the -9U soaking up ammo. The reality is a hit sprite can represent 1-many hits. So someone squirts 5 x 20mm at a P47, a single hit sprite represents those 5. In the Yak it feels like due to the size only 1 of those 5 connect but the same singular hit sprite is shown.

I prefer the 9U over the 3.

Well said. I don't really fly many planes with 50s so I don't have much to comment on how they effect a yak. But my 2x20mm x 1x30mm never have any trouble
