A more modern jet simulator online.

Not the super modern F-22 and such, but the beginning of jet combat with missles.

American century series, British planes, French Mirages, vs Russian Migs and Sukoi jets.

Airfields that don't have radar but have AWAC drone planes circling overhead, and a few mid air tankers.

I like WWII for it's epic scale, and the skill required to fight air-to-air, but it isn't the only era I like.

How come nobody likes jets?

Hans.

first off your asking about jets in a 99% WWII junkie message board.

I like jets but not as near as prop fighters.
to me trying to keep a prop plane up in a fight is skill enough then zooming in at 400mph and then pulling up and turning on the after burners.

I played janes F-18 online when it came out but it seemed like your enemy was always miles away when you kill them.
I love seeing my enemy going down in flames right infront of me.  :D

Try Jane's "Israeli Air Force".  A2A and A2G with Mirages and Phantoms vs MiG 15s and MiG 21s.  Rear aspect missiles only and guns with a pretty decent flight model.  Throw in bombs and SAMs and it gets very immersive and fun.  Can be played in multiplayer but Jane's Combat Net is gone so I don't think internet multiplayer is supported now...pity.

P.S. This is probably in the wrong forum...  :)

I got a hair up my bellybutton and decided I needed to try a jet sim since I never had.

I bought and installed Jane's USAF Fighters, played for about 2 hours, and uninstalled...

Mig Alley had promise, but was just so damn confusing to deal with... but that was machine guns again.  :)

Allied a2g rockets are more effective at a2a than LW a2a rockets.

Conspiracy, I tell you  :D

That's because they are really only 210mm mortar shells with a rocket strapped on.
