Folks, I'm going to do a patch run for Big Week.  We will need player-submitted designs (see next message).

What is a patch, you say?

Well, I used to produce these for all scenarios, so that you could sew them on jackets (like so) or hats or, in my case, one's nether regions.

A tour though past patches:

What we do to make a patch is that players submit a mocked-up design (just a graphic that they made using whatever graphics program they desire).

They show folks what they have in mind, and folks give feedback and pick which one they like the best.

Then I get it produced and mail them out to scenario participants.

So . . .

Time for players to post up some designs, suggestions, etc.  :aok

Howdy, Swareiam.

I don't think we can go that small on graphic elements.  The patches end are 3" in diameter, and resolution to the stitching isn't all that high.  The planes smaller than the bombers, the explosions, and the USAAF symbol would end up too small to render well.

If you look at Operation Husky, those two aircraft are pushing the limit on size of an aircraft shape.  I would go bigger than that.  Also, if you look at the symbols on the wings of the planes in Stalin's Fourth and Operation Downfall, that's how things get at small sizes.

Copy that Brooke! I will reevaluate the dimensions.  :aok

May completely change the design, but I have some BIGGER ideas as well.

First run through..  Think a banner along the bottom would work best for the title.

Nice one there, Fencer. If I may offer some (hopefully) helpful criticism?

Brooke can confirm this, but going from memory there was a cap of 7 distinct colors that you could use on any given patch. So the eagle, for example, could be a single color silhouette but you couldn't get the shades of grey and details on all the feathers. It just wouldn't come through with the stitching.

I like the layout, but you would have to tweak the different birds' colors to make them solid and I think you would lose the stars due to them being too small to come out properly. I rather like the B-17 perspective and the contrails. Good start!

OK, now that frame 4 is done, I can get some time back to the patch.

Fencer, I think the stars on the American flag will end up too small.  Any suggestions?  Use a USAAF emblem instead, or just use fewer stars that are larger (even though not accurate for a flag)?

Also, can you change the May 2017 to June 2017?

I agree, USAF Roundel!

I'm stoked to add another patch!

Anyone heard from Fencer? He hasn't been active since June 1st.

How's it going on the patch design?

Did any design get finalized or accepted?

Brooke, I think I am missing  1 or 2 of the last scenarios,  need to check my collection....do you possibly still have a few extras left over?

I'll shoot you a pm of what I might be missing
