Attention All FSO Players
« on: June 12, 2017, 01:01:02 AM »
Players there seems to be a few misconceptions as of late I am here to clear them up. First there seems to be a lot of talk of we are a dedicated  allied or we are a dedicated axis squad. Please reread the FSO rules NO one is guaranteed any side or ride stop thinking you are.
The formula is simple numbers. Most want allied so some axis squads do not move much. When numbers dropped we relaxed the two tours and side switch rule but please be clear no one is guaranteed a side or ride. Second CIC duties. All squads are required to do CIC duties. Players are NOT allowed to attack the CIC.  If you have a problem with a CIC contact a CM with the problem CIC's are just players they cannot fix it. CIC's
if a player attacks you do not  respond contact a CM as well. Last players the email list is not a forum to voice your opinion its for planning and discussing your orders ONLY your ride is what you get.  Only time your guaranteed a ride is when you are CIC.

The 475FG will gladly be Allied CIC for every frame when P38's are available.

I think the failure here was the inability to act respectful in a situation where a simple request to switch airframes could have easily avoided this entire situation.

"hey 68falcon and Dantoo, do you mind if the 475th switches aircraft with the 68th Lighting Lancers for Frame 1? We are a historic P-38 squadron and would like fly them if possible."

I've known 68falcon and Dantoo for nearly 20 years, I'm sure they would have accommodated your request.

Shame it came to this and was easily avoidable.

<S> and understood DH.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Nefarious  is right simple manners could have went along way in resolving this matter. Make no mistake ladies and gentlemen this was the carrot next is the stick and I am more than happy to hand out some vacations if respect and manners are not shown to fellow players.

Direct communication is certainly an option, but don't rage if it still doesn't work.

CiCs try to do their best in working a number of compromises.  One of those compromises is trying to see that other squads have a chance in "choice" airplanes and don't get stuck with something they never wanted for 3 frames in a row.  Fairness works both ways.

So, don't expect a preference.  Be happy if you get it.  Ask politely for a change if you prefer something else (do it ASAP for better chances).  Don't get upset if your change can't be accommodated.  Do your best with what you have no matter what it is.

Trainee came up with a saying for the Unforgiven.  We will fly Wright Flyers with Lugers if that is what you assign us.

Had D3A's in the same role once. Took bombs to attack the target once we spotted the incoming raid.

We got assigned SBD's to drop eggs on a japanese field they swarmed the heck out of us I didn't think I ever heard our Squad laughing as much as we did just trying to make it out alive, it was a lot of fun, but no one ever complained.

The issue stemmed from the fact that when the problem was brought to the CM for the event, they did nothing about it. Our CO was told to forget about it.

The P38 is not a choice aircraft, our wishes have been made very well known and we are happy to fly anything when P-38's are not available.

If preferences are to be ignored then why are we asked to state our preferences every month?
